Through the ICN, Indiana colleges and universities work together to help students learn about and enroll in the wide range of programs and courses available at a distance. High school programs are accredited by NCA’s Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. All members are accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) Higher Learning Commission. IHETS was established by the Indiana General Assembly in 1967, and under its guidance a statewide higher education leadership committee created the Indiana College Network in 1994, making ICN the first such virtual university consortium in the country.
